I have tried my hand at drawing. Turns out these hands were only ment to destroy, how ever that doesn't discourage me; what does though is the fact that I'm basicaly teaching myself and I've never had the "nack" for it in the first place. I've even tried using digital media to draw with and I dont mean MS paint, I'm using "Paint.NET" and "MyPaint" they are free programs and both are pretty good; but I still suck. In all fairness though I feel I'm much better off just using pencil and paper vs. "bamboo tablet" and an art program.
This is a very plain picture, you would agree? I had planned on placing a dragon in here some where, along with some really nice scenery. (Note: This was drawn by hand, then photographed. Thats the only way I can get them onto my Pc unfortunatly)
So I got my hands on some colored pencils one day after playing some Dark Souls, and this happened. PRAISE THE SUN, AND ONE DAY YOU TOO COULD BE GROSSLY INCANDECENT!! Excuse me, I dont know what came over me. Any way, moving on.
Colored pencils are alot of fun, especially when experimenting with lighting and shading and shit... Hell on your wrists and hands but fun non the less.
I gave up on this one cause I had no idea where it was going, no where good from the look of it.
My friends have been a big help though, always giving me new ideas to play with; and supporting me even when I think 97% of the art I produce is total shit. I dont know what they are seeing, but they like it.
Here is an earlier piece of artwork, very plain, very simple, and if you cant read the text in the picture it say's "Ornstien and Smough, pray it's over quick" Had more trouble with these two than Lord Gwyn. I can tell you that it's better to dance around the fat man and focus on the bean pole, if you dont mind fighting a fat ball of lightening.
Any way, as far as art is concerned; it can be loads of fun, or it can be a pain in the ass. I've scrapped more art work than I've succesfully finished, because I look at it and think it sucks and I wad that piece of crap up into a ball, move to the free throw line and sink that sucker right into the trash can, the picture may be gone but I still gained the experience from drawing that particular turd. One thing for me that has been true the entire time I've been at this is to have FUN with your art and let it come to you. I have found that the majority of the pictures I did complete I enjoyed every moment of drawing it, from start to finish.
